Tri Wahana, Bontang to sign MoU on refinery project

PT Tri Wahana Universal (TWU), the owner of a small scale refinery in Bojonegoro regency of East Java, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the mayoralty of Bontang in East Kalimantan to cooperate in building an oil refinery in the city.
Corporate Secretary of TWU Putri Ayuniaty told Petromindo.com that the Bontang mayoralty will build an industrial area covering up to 600 hectares, and plans to cooperate with TWU in building the refinery.
"Yesterday (Nov. 5) the Bontang government came to our office in Jakarta to discuss the refinery construction plan in details. An MoU for the project will be signed in the near future," she said, adding that the company is still waiting for assurance from a oil supplier for oil supply to the refinery.
She did not specify the oil supplier.
TWU now operates a refinery with a capacity of 18,000 bpd in Bojonegoro. It plans to expand its capacity to 60,000 bpd.
