PT Tri Wahana Universal (TWU), the owner of a small scale refinery in Bojonegoro regency of East Java, seeks to expand its refining capacity up to 60,000 barrels oil per day (bopd) in less than 5 years.

TWU estimates the expansion costs could reach US$220 million.

?To enlarge Bojonegoro plant capacity to 30,000 bopd, we need $60 million to build a secondary processing facility,? said Rudy Tavinos, CEO of TWU told Petromindo.com recently.

The company currently processes 13,000 bopd from Mobil Cepu Limited oil field, which is channeled through five kilometers pipe to the Bojonegoro plant. The refinery however has a total processing capacity of 18,000 bopd.

Besides, the firm will build two new plants, located in Kalimantan and Sumatra respectively, to bring its total capacity to 60,000 bopd with a total investment of $160 million, he said without providing details on the locations.
