Trial coal shipment delayed to next month: Coal Fe

Thursday, April 28 2011 - 10:06 AM WIB

Australian firm Coal Fe Limited said on Thursday that its first 50,000 MT trial shipment from its coal mine PT. Pancaran Surya Abadi in Kutai Kartanegara regency, East Kalimantan is now re-scheduled for early May 2011 due to an unusually high rainfall which continued from the North-Eastern Monsoon

The first quarter of 2011 recorded an unusually high incidence of rainfall which continued from the North-Eastern Monsoon which is usually experienced during the end of each year. This has hindered the hauling of coal from the mine site to the jetty.

The coal delivery targets in the first quarter were also affected by the termination of the contract of the haulage sub-contractor and replacement with a fleet of in-house coal hauling vehicles, the company said.

The Company under the joint venture arrangement with PT Toba Jaya aims to maintain a consistent monthly production of 50,000 MT before moving to the next planned target production of 1 million MT per annum by the end of year 2011. (romel)
