Triangle Pase may drill 1 well next year

Despite an ongoing uncertainty over the operatorship issue, Triangle Pase Inc (TPI), the wholly owned subsidiary of Perth-based firm Triangle Energy that operates the Pase block in Aceh, said it plans to drill at least one new prospect within the block next year.

Triangle?s contract at the block expired in February but upstream authority BPMIGAS said it will remain as the operator until the Aceh administration comes up with a definite decision on the operatorship.

While there is no assurance that it will continue to be the operator next year, the firm said in a report that works however have commenced to prepare drilling equipment and services tenders for next year?s planned drilling. Pre-qualification of drilling rigs has also been completed together with location designs, it added.

Triangle Pase has produced gas and condensate from three wells at the A&B field at the block from which it generates cash flow from the sale of the gas.

TPI has an agreement whereby ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc (EMOI) markets and sells gas from the Pase A&B Field through its well-established and maintained gas infrastructure to PT Arun LNG.
