The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry expects ASX-listed Triangle Energy Limited to actively maintain and even boost operations in Pase block in Aceh, while waiting for the central government?s decision on the block?s operatorship.

As reported earlier, Triangle was in February selected by the Aceh government to partner with the Aceh government-owned company (PDPA) to jointly operate the block. The Aceh government, on behalf of Triangle and PDPA is in the process formalizing the process with the central government.

While the process is underway, the Ministry?s Director General of Oil and Gas A.Edy Hermantoro said on Thursday that Triangle should continue operation and not lessen its commitment on the block.

?On the Pase block, until the operatorship issue is settled, Triangle should operate normally,? Edy told petromindo.com.

Triangle has earlier reported that production from block during the March quarter totaled 88.6 mmcf, from three wells, A-1, A-5 and A-6.
