Trisensa to complete coal hauling project

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Trisensa Mineral Utama (TMU), a coal unit of IDX-listed coal miner group PT Toba Bara Sejahtra is expecting to complete its 16-km coal hauling road project to its nearby sister company PT Adimitra Baratama Nusantara (ABN) mine by early H2 2013, industrial sources have said.
The target is slightly behind schedule compared to the previous target of Q2 2013. With the completion of the project TMU will use jetty at PT Indomining and ABN, instead of currently using PT Nusa Dua Makmur jetty port.
Indomining (IM) is also a coal unit of Toba Bara Sejahtra (the Group).
The group is constructing a coal hauling road from TMU to IM through ABN primarily to maximize infrastructure sharing such as Coal Processing Plant (CPP), jetty owned by ABN or IM. This initiative would also facilitate the efforts to optimize coal quality through blending between coals produced by TMU, ABN and IM where TMU?s coal has lower sulfur value.
Maximizing infrastructures sharing helps reduce capital expenditure (capex) in building CPP for TMU. Through this hauling road, the group believes it will lower future operational costs.
TMU plans to boost its coal output to between 500,000 tons and 1 million tons for this year, from only 260,000 tons in 2012. The mine started commercial production in October 2011. TMU currently produces a coal product called ?Trisensa-47?, which has a calorific value of 4,700 kcal/kg (GAR) and total sulhpur of 0.4%.
