PT Tri Wahana Universal (TWU) plans to double the capacity of its mini oil refinery in Bojonegoro, East Java, to 24,000 bpd in the near future, Kontan reported on Friday.
?We?ll increase the capacity by another 12,000 bpd to become 24,000 bpd,? said TWU President Director Rudi Tavinos.
He said that total investment requirement for the expansion is estimated at US$150 million. Two foreign banks including HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank have agreed to provide loans for the project, he added.
TWU obtains the crude feed for the mini refinery from ExxonMobil at market price, Rudi said.
Of the existing 12,000 bpd-capacity, about 60 percent of the refinery?s output is in the form of diesel fuel, 30 percent catalytic crackers, and the rest are other products. (*)
