Indonesia-listed construction and engineering firm PT Truba Alam Manunggal Engineering Tbk has finally decided to cancel its plan to build a 2 x 135 MW coal-fired power plant in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra.

Truba's corporate secretary Gamala V. Katoppo said in Jakarta on Thursday that the decision was made because the company could not find a strategic partner in building the power plant. ?We may continue the project if we can find a strategic partner,? he said.

Truba earlier said that the company would spend at least US$274.3 million to build the power plant

In March 2009, Thai firm Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited signed an MoU with the firm to make an investment study for the project. (*)
