Truba, Mitsubishi sign cooperation deal on power plant project

PT Truba Jaya Engineering, a subsidiary of JSX listed firm PT Truba Alam Manunggal Engineering Tbk, has signed a cooperation deal with Mitsubishi Heavy Engineering to re-power Muara Karang combined cycle power plant project, Investor Daily reported Saturday.

 

Truba Alam Manunggal’s president director Arifin Wiguna said in Jakarta Friday that the re-powering project would replace the existing Muara Karang power plant’s unit, 1, 2 and 3 that have a total capacity of 300 MW with a new one that has a capacity of 700 MW.

 

Earlier, PLN’s deputy director for primary energy Tony Agus Mulyantono that the Muara Karang re-powering project is aimed to increase the generating capacity of the gas-fired unit by 400 MW to 720 MW.

 

The project is expected to be completed in 30 months and the re-powering project would be financed by Japan Bank for International Corporation (JBIC), Tony said. 

 

Muara Karang power station, located in the northern part of Jakarta , has a total installed capacity are 1208 MW. The power plant has several types of power generation units, including combined cycle type and gas turbine type. (*)
