State oil gas company PT Pertamina and Chinese firm PetroChina will boost production from Tuban JOB block onshore East Java to 50,000 barrels per day next year from 40,000 BPD currently, a company official said on Wednesday.

Suryadi Oemar, Pertamina-PetroChina East Java (PPEJ) GM told Petromindo.Com that production addition would be achieved from additional wells drilled this year and next year.

Suryadi said the Sukowati 12A well, which currently in the process of being put into production, will contribute 3,000-5,000 BPD to Tuban production. Another three wells, which will be drilled under Phase IV development, would enable the block to reach 50,000 BPD production.

PPEJ also plans to drill three more wells in 2011 to maintain production level of 50,000 BPD, he said.

Apart from oil, PPEJ also produces 5MMCFD of gas from Lengowangi well, which is piped to petrochemical firm in Gresik, East Java.

Pertamina has 75 percent stake at Tuban JOB with PetroChina holding the balance. (alex)
