Tujuh Bukit gold project to complete production trial soon

PT Bumi Suksesindo (BSI), a subsidiary of IDX-listed gold mining firm PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, which runs the Tujuh Bukit gold mining project in Banyuwangi, East Java, said that it is currently still at the stage of early production trial.

BSI Corporate Communications Manager, Teuku Mufizar Mahmud, was quoted by Kontan as saying Monday that the production trial is expected to be completed within the next three months, which means the company will start name plate production in the second semester of this year. ?We?re still at the early stage of production trial,? he told the paper, but did not provide further details.

As has been previously reported by this portal, trial production in Tujuh Bukit started on March 17 following completion of the gold processing facility.

According to 2012 JORC, the Tujuh Bukit gold mine (also called Tumpang Pintu) holds ore reserves of 90 million tons in its oxide layer. The project is expected to produce 90,000 ounces of gold and 300,000 oz of silver per year through 2025. The local administration holds a 10 percent participating interest in the project.(*)
