IDX-listed gold mining company PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, said that the Tumpang Pitu (or Tujuh Bukit) gold mine project in Banyuwangi, East Java Province, is set to enter commissioning phase and production trial within the next two months.

President Director of Merdeka Adi Adriansyah Sjoekri said on Thursday that construction of the gold processing facility at the mine, run by subsidiary PT Bumi Suksesindo (BSI), has been progressing well, and the mine is set to start production in the first quarter of this year as planned. ?Construction progress has reached 90 percent,? he said.

According to 2012 JORC, the Tujuh Bukit mine holds ore reserves of 90 million tons in its oxide layer. The project is expected to produce 90,000 ounces of gold and 300,000 oz of silver per year through to 2025.
