Production level at Tunu field in Mahakam block, East Kalimantan, operated by French firm Total EP Indonesie (TEPI), has now reached approximately 700 mmscfd of gas, according to a senior official of the firm.

?The current production of Tunu has reached 700 mmscfd of gas. The total gas production of Mahakam block is currently around 1.6 to 1.7 bcfd, which consists of Tunu field amounting to 700 mmscfd, Sisi Nubi field 350 mmscfd, Peciko field 300 mmscfd, and the rest from South Mahakam. The largest contribution is still derived from Tunu field,? Vice President Geoscience and Reservoir of TEPI Noor Syarifuddin said in Jakarta.

He added that in October 2014, Total has successfully completed a 3D seismic acquisition project covering an area of 590 sqkm at the Northwest Tunu with investment of US$80 million.

President Director/GM of TEPI Hardy Pramono noted that Tunu field is the backbone of the production from the Mahakam block.

"We still want to maintain gas production from Tunu to remain stable this year,? he insisted.
