Two BPMIGAS Deputies inaugurated

Friday, August 19 2011 - 08:35 AM WIB

The head of upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS, R Priyono, today led a hand-over ceremony of two deputy head posts. Rudi Rubiandini, previously Board Secretary, was officially installed as new Deputy Head for Operation, while Achmad Syakhroza, an academic at University of Indonesia, was officially installed as Deputy Head for Finance.

Achmad Syakhroza replaces Wibowo Suseno Wirjawan. ?The inauguration ceremony should be understood as an effort to put the interest of the organization as priority, namely empowering the agency in order to boost its performance,? said Priyono during the ceremony. This includes meeting oil lifting target in the revised 2011 State Budget at 945,000 barrels per day.

Priyono expressed hope that Rudi Rubiandini?s experience as petroleum engineer and a player in upstream oil and gas industry would feed ?fresh blood? to the agency?s operation. Meanwhile, Akhmad Syakhroza, given his experience as an expert in corporate governance should help BPMIGAS in improving its administrative procedures, including better management of production sharing contract related issues.

?Create breakthroughs in advancing the oil and gas upstream sector so that it provides optimum benefits to the state,? Priyono said.

Priyono reminded the two officials that working in BPMIGAS is not easy as they will encounter variety of interests. On one hand, they have to look after the interests of the government or the state, on the other hand they have to consider the interests of profit sharing contractors (PSC holders) and other stakeholders.
