Two consortia to win $864m Cepu EPC contracts

Indonesian unit of US oil, gas firm ExxonMobil Oil Corp. has picked two consortia as winners to carry out EPC for its Banyu Urip giant oilfield development in Cepu block in Java, an upstream oil, gas authority senior official said on Thursday,
Vice Chairman of BPMIGAS Hardiono told Petromindo.Com that Exxon has picked Samsung-Tripatra consortium as winner for main facility construction with contract value worth US$750 million.
Meanwhile, a consortium led by Italian EPC firm Saipem has been picked as pipeline and mooring facility contractor with contract value of $ 114 million.
Hardiono said winners? formal appointment would require approval from BPMIGAS, which will likely be given this month.
Exxon divides Cepu into five separate packages.
Exxon, together with partner state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) are developing the giant block to reach production capacity of 165,000 BPD in 2013-14. (bernard).
