Two firms compete to win Ruby FEED

French engineering firm Technip and Australian firm WorleyParsons are the two remaining bidders to win front-end engineering design (FEED) work for Pearl Energy?s Ruby gas field in Sebuku PSC offshore Kalimantan, a senior official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said on Friday.

Deputy Chairman Hardiono told Petromindo.Com that the two companies have passed technical evaluation. The other bidders; Woodgroup, Inti Karya Persada Teknik and Singgar Doris Enginering Consultant did not pass.

He did not say when winner will be announced.

Pearl Energy, a unit of UAE-based investment holding Mubadala Development Company, will develop Ruby field, which will consist of wellhead and production platforms and 300-km pipeline to flow gas to Senipah processing facility and then to Bontang LNG plant.

The field is expected to start production in 2012 with peak gas production of 100MMCFD. Earlier reports said that Pearl, which has 100 percent interest in the block, will invest more than US$300 million to develop the block. (godang)
