Two firms get license to develop coal mines in E. Kalimantan

Two companies have obtained licenses from the local authority to explore coal deposits in Malinau regency, East Kalimantan province, Kaltim Post reported on Thursday.

The two companies - PT Kayan Putra Uatama Coal (KPUC) and PT Kayan Makmur Sejahtera (KMS) - presented their respective environmental impact assessment report (Amdal) to the local authority on Wednesday.

The local authority approved the Amdal with several changes. (*)
