The firms are state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Bumi Asri Prima Pratama, according BPH Migas?s Chairman Tubagus Haryono.
It remains unclear whether other firms were not interested in the tender. Aside from the two firms, there are 17 other firms that have been invited by BPH Migas to the tender. They are Petronas Niaga Indonesia, AKR Corporindo, Elnusa Petrofin, Petro Andalan Nusantara, Cosmic Indonesia, Patra Niaga, Jagad Energy, Dwikarya Niaga Agung, Medco Sarana Kalibaru, Premindo Mitra Kencana, Shell Indonesia, Humpuss Trading, Petrobas Indonesia, Pumas Petro Lampung, Total Oil Indonesie, Solar Premium Central, and Lingga Perdana
Tubagus said the firms that have picked up the tender documents are given until July 10, 2009 to prepare all necessary documents. BPH Migas will ask each of them to hold a presentation on the capability to provide and distribute the subsidized fuels. BPH Migas will then do tender and field verification before making a decision whether to award them contracts. (godang)
