Two out of 12 potential investors under the leadership of the Pertamina Employees Welfare Foundation (YKPP) plan to invest in mining sector in Mura district, Southern Sumatra, in cooperation with the Mura district administration.

According to the Mura mining office chief, Fauzi Zakaria, the two investors will mine for black tin and zinc in Rawas Ulu sub-district and for andesite mineral in the sub-districts of Tugu Mulyo, Muara Rupit, Rawas Ulu, Muara Beliti and Muara Kelingi.

Fauzi said that the investors had actually planned to conduct mining exploration activities in Mura, but first of all they must conduct feasibility study. Soon, they would invite a team from Bandung, West Java, to survey the areas.

"If the results (of the survey) are positive, they will file a project proposal that will be presented to YKPP partners (foreign investors or domestic investors) to materialize the mining activities, " Fauzi told Sumatera Ekspres in Lubuk Linggau on Wednesday (April 4). (*)
