Two killed in explosion at Pertamina?s gathering station

A tanker exploded on Friday at state oil and gas company Pertamina?s Talang Akar, South Sumatra crude gathering station on Friday, killing two locals, who apparently sneaked to the facility to smoke and get drunk. Kompas reported Monday.
South Sumatra Police spokesman Snr. Comr. Abusopah Ibrahim said that Pertamina failed to maintain tight security at the facility.
Director for the Legal Aid Institute in Palembang, also head of the South Sumatra House of Representatives? commission II on economic affairs Pahlevi Maezano said on Sunday that Pertamina is fully responsible for guarding and securing its vital and dangerous installations in the company?s operating area.
The two dead casualties were identified as Oktri Susilo, 17, and Hariyanto, 19, students of Pendopo Senior High School, South Sumatra. The wounded man was identified as Maryanto, 18, a resident of Sungai Dua. He is now being treated at Prabumulih Hospital.(*)
