Two mining workers were killed and three others were still missing when a landslide occurred in a tin mining area in the village of Sukamandi in Damar district, East Belitung, on Saturday, Tribunenews reported.

The five workers were buried alive when the landslide occurred in a high pile of sands in the mining area owned by state owned tin mining company PT Timah. Two of them were found dead when security guards and other workers tried to rescue them using an excavator. The other three were still missing.
