Two Kutai coal miners suspended

Two coal miners operating in Kutai Kartanegara regency, namely PT Bara Kumala sakti (BKS) and PT Asta Minindo have their operation temporarily suspended as both have not installed dust net surrounding their stockpiling area, Kaltim Post reported today.
These Operation suspensions are the extension of previous suspension order given two weeks earlier.
The regent of Kutai Kartanegara Ridya Widyasari on Wednesday conducted direct evaluation on BKS' and Asta's mine to do the suspension, stating that dust from both stockpile areas have disrupt the activities of nearby school, namely Loa Kulu Junior High School.
Both companies promised to do the instalation soon.
PT Bara Kumala Sakti is a coal unit of Indian firm Archean Group currently producing up to 400,000 tons of coal with 5,000 kcal/kg (GAR) and 1.4% sulphur content per month. It sells coal among others to Noble, LG and Peabody, including to Taipower. (*)
