Two more firms pick up PSO tender documents

Two more firms have come to the office of oil and gas downstream regulator BPH Migas to pick up documents for the tender to distribute subsidized fuels on the domestic market next year.

The two firms are PT Petrobas Indonesia and PT Patra Niaga, Erie Sudarmo, oil-based fuel director at BPH Migas, was quoted by Kontan as saying on Wednesday.

The two firms brought the number of firms that have picked up the tender documents to four. The agency announced on Tuesday that state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and PT Bumi Asri Prima Pratama had picked up the tender documents.

The agency had invited a total of 19 companies to pick up the tender documents. It remains unclear whether the other companies are not interested in the tender. Erie said the agency still give to other companies until Tuesday to pick up the tender documents.

Pertamina has handled the distribution of subsidized fuel, also called public service obligation (PSO) fuels, for decades and the government is now keen to allow private firms to also handle the PSO fuel distribution. (*)
