Three marine vessel power plants (MVPPs) will soon sail from Turkey, two of which are expected to arrive in Indonesia in December of this year.

This was said by Ufuk Berk, Director of Kar Powership Asia Pacific, a unit of Turkey-based floating power plant maker Karpowership, on Tuesday. He said that the vessels were built at Tuzla Sedef shipyard in Istanbul owned by Karadeniz Holding, the company?s parent.

Berk said in a statement that the Karadeniz Powership Gokhan Bey, 120 MW, is scheduled to arrive in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, in mid-December 2016, and will start operation at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, the second MVPP, Karadeniz Powership Dogan Bey, 120 MW, will arrive in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, also in mid-December, and hopefully can start operation before Christmas.

The third vessel, Karadeniz Powership Yasin Bey, 120 MW, will be dispatched to Ambon, Maluku, in the first quarter of 2017.

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN began operating one MVPP with capacity of 125 MW, leased from Karpowership, in January of this year, supplying electricity to the North Sulawesi and Gorontalo power grid.
