Two workers killed in landslide at Freeport mine

A landslide smashed into a cafeteria for workers at the copper and gold mine of PT Freeport Indonesia in Papua on Thursday, killing at least two workers, a company spokesman said as reported by the Associated Press.

Production at the mine was unaffected.

Several other workers were injured in the accident at the Grasberg mine, said Siddharta Moersjid.

He said more fatalities were possible.

"We are still working to find out the cause of the accident at this time," he said. (*)
