The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has offered sale of crude and oil fuels to Indonesia without intermediaries, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement on Friday.

The offer was made during the bilateral meeting between Indonesia?s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said and UAE?s Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazroui on the sidelines of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries? (OPEC) recent meeting in Vienna, Austria.

Suhail proposed the sale and purchase of crude and oil fuels to be directly carried out by the two countries? national oil companies (NOC), PT Pertamina (Persero) and Mubadala Petroleum. He also promised to push Mubadala to invest in Indonesia?s upstream and downstream sectors.

?The meeting with the UAE government produced an agreement on cooperation in the upstream and downstream sectors,? Sudirman said.
