UCI eyeing 3.7 million output in 2013

Indonesia coal mining company PT United Coal Indonesia (PT UCI ) aims to produce up to 3.7 million tons of coal in 2013 from its coal mines in East kalimantlan and Central Kalimantan .
Taufik Surya Darma, President Director of PT UCI told Petromindo.com that he is optimistic that the company will increase its production significantly compared to 2012's output which was only about 2.2 million ton.
"We are optimistic with the target since there are several new mine sites which will be starting to produce coal this year, in addition to several sites which have already started to produce earlier such as Loa Janan site in East Kalimantan which started to produce at the end of last year and is expected to increase its production (this year)," he explained, adding that other mines such as Loa Buah in East Kalimantan, and Berau are expected to commence production in April 2013.
"We have also one site which is ready to produce coal in 2013 at Tamiang Layang, Central Kalimantan ," he said. Taufik added that in January 2013, the company produced about 240,000 tons. Taufik revealed that the company is eyeing between US$ 240 million to US$ 250 million of total sales in 2013 by producing 3.7 million tons of coal.
