UCI eyeing higher production in H2

Indonesian coal producer PT United Coal Indonesia (PT UCI) is expecting a higher production in the second semester in order to compensate the slight margin. The company is also lowering the striping ratio in order to get a better margin.
Taufik Surya Dharma, President Director of PT UCI told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company expected to produce up to 4 million tons this year, almost doubling the 2012 production which stood at 2.2 million tons. In the first semester of this year, the company produced about 1.72 million tons.
The company is also conducting efficiency by among others by cutting nonessential manpower and rescheduling maintenance. "We are increasing the productivity of employees and each of equipment unit," he said.
