Coal mining company, PT United Coal Indonesia (UCI) is planning to increase its output from 580,000 tons to 750,000 tons in the fourth quarter of 2013.

President Director Taufik Surya Darma told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the additional output will come from its new concessions in Berau and Kutai Kartanegara regencies, in East Kalimantan, which are expected to commence production in the fourth quarter of this year.

Earlier the company said it had completed the acquisition of a 2,300 ha coal mine in Berau. The coal mine has about 40 million tons of mineable reserves. "We expect to start production by August-September this year in Berau," Taufik said without disclosing the acquisition's value
