UGM completes design for biodiesel power plant

The Energy Study Center at the University of Gajah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta has completed the detail engineering design for a biodiesel power plant.

The Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a recent statement that the biodiesel power plant will utilize used cooking oil collected from local communities.

The power plant will be installed at the local elementary school, Sekolah Cinta Bumi SD Negeri 3 Kaliberau.

Partners in the project is JOB Pertamina-Talisman Jambi Merang, the statement said, but did not provide further details.
