Underwriters Laboratories eyes RI power market segment

US-based component safety assessment company Underwriters Laboratories has set up wire and cable test laboratory in Sentul, West Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.

The paper said that it is the company?s first such laboratory in Southeast Asia.

Ben Millier, a senior official at Underwriters, said that his company was eying the electricity market segment in Indonesia as the government is aggressively developing new power plants and transmission lines.

He said the company will be engaged in standardization and certification of wires and cables for electricity projects in Indonesia. (*)
