Unindo to invest $2m in transformer plant

PT Unindo, a subsidiary of French firm Areva Group, has invested US$2 million to produce new transformers at its plant in Pulo Gadung, North Jakarta .

 

The company has produced five new types of transformers to meet customers’ demand for quality and safer products.

 

The new products include Medium Voltage Switchgear type FLOUKIT M+, Medium Voltage Fully Iinsulated Switchgear type FBX, Cast Resin Transformer type HARMONY, Medium Power Transformer and Compact Prefabricated Substations.

 

“All of the new products meet the IEC standards and we have made them safer for consumers,” Unindo president Stephene Ageorges said on Thursday during a ceremony to unveil the products.

 

The price ranges from $3,000 to $4,000 for small size transformers and between $400,000 and $500,000 for big size transformers. (Godang)
