Indonesia coal mining company, PT United Coal Indonesia (UCI), expects to produce 2.2 million ton of coal in 2012.

Taufik Surya Darma, President Director of UCI told Petromindo.com that this target is the realistic target amid the bearish coal market.

"Initially we were expecting to produce up to 3 million tons this year, however with this market condition we adjust our production to at least as much as we produced in the previous year," he said.

UCI currently has eight concessions spread out in South Sumatra, Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan over a total area of about 24,000 hectares. Four of eight have been in production stage while the rest are still at exploration stage. The company's coal calorie value ranges between 3,400-3,800 beside some with 7,200 high calorie value.
