United Tractors sets up nickel-processing subsidiary

PT United Tractors Tbk (IDX: UNTR) has established a new nickel-focused subsidiary as part of its broader move into mineral processing and services, the company said in a filing to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
The new entity, PT Nusantara Industri Nikel Lestari (NINL), was set up through two wholly owned subsidiaries—PT Danusa Tambang Nusantara (DTN) and PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN). DTN holds 99.9% of the shares and EPN the remaining 0.1%.

NINL, whose deed of establishment was approved by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on 2 December, will operate in the non-ferrous basic metal manufacturing industry and metal and ore trading.
United Tractors said the subsidiary’s creation forms part of its ongoing business diversification strategy into nickel services and processing.
