United Tractors subsidiaries target coal production 6-7 million tons in 2012

PT United Tractors (UT) targets its coal production from its subsidiaries, PT Prima Multi Mineral and PT Tuah Turangga Agung, will increase by 1-1.5 million tons to 6-7 million tons in 2012, the company's corporate secretary, Sarah Loebis, said.

Sarah Loebis said the sale of the coal was done through spot market, therefore, the coal price depends on the spot market price. The average coal price sold so far this year is around US$100 per tonne.

The company?s Finance Director, Gidion Hasan, said almost 100 percent of the two company?s coal production are sold to export market in Asia Pacific, such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

As for heavy equipment, United Tractors projected its total sales this year to be at 8,000 units, and expects it to increase by 10-15 percent next year.

Coal production increase in the country in general is expected to boost the demand for the company's Komatsu brand heavy equipment sales next year. (giok)
