Unocal records Indonesian oil, gas production increase in 2001

US oil and gas firm Unocal Corp. recorded production of 29,800 barrels per day (BPD) of crude and 155.5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of natural gas in 2001, net of Indonesian government share, according to the data in the company?s website released Tuesday.

The 2001 crude and gas production was higher compared to previous year?s production of 25,500 BPD of crude and 146.7 MMCFD of gas.

Unocal said average price for its Indonesian crude in 2001 was US$ 22.7 per barrel and average price for natural gas was US$ 3.62 per MCF.

The company also predicted its Indonesian crude production would be at 30,000 BPD in 2002, but would jump significantly to 42,000 BPD and 84,000 BPD in 2003 and 2004, due to the completion of its West Seno oil and gas production facilities in Makassar Strait.

Gas production was predicted at 165 MMCFD in 2002 and would slightly jump to 175 MMCFD and 190 MMCFD in 2003 and 2004.

Unocal operates several production sharing contract areas in East Kalimantan and its natural gas production was piped to Bontang natural gas liquefaction (NGL).(alex)
