Unocal's language instructor captured in drug abuse case

Hunter Rhett Buler, a 31-year oil American who was hired by oil and gas company PT Unocal Indonesia Company as language instructor, was nabbed by the police on Tuesday in the oil town of Balikpapan in East Kalimantan for having illegal drugs.

The man tried to run away on his motorbike when the police sought to capture him at a hotel in the town.

The police confiscated from him among others a gram of shabu-shabu drug, an ecstasy pill as evidences.

East Kalimantan's detective chief Col. Abdurrahman said the man still refused to reveal who supplied the drug to him.

Unocal's head of communication department Samsulistyo said on Thursday the company had hired Buler as a language instructor for the children of the company's employees for six months. The contract will expire in one month and it had decided not to extend the contract, he said (*)
