Unocal?s Q1 Indonesian gas production down

US independent oil, gas firm Unocal Corp. reported on Wednesday that its Indonesian net production during the fisrt quarter of 2004 reached 128.6 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD), down from previous quarter?s production of 151.3 MMCFD, while liquids production relatively unchanged at 30,000 barrels per day.

During the quarter, average gas price was US$4.19 per MCF, compared to $3.95 per MCF in the previous quarter. Liquids average price was $31 per per barrel versus $28.11 per barrel in the previous quarter.

The company did not reveal the cause of Indonesian gas production decline, but during the quarter its Attaka field was forced to stop production for two weeks due to fire.

Meanwhile, the company said that its deep water West Seno field in Makassar Strait continued to ramp-up production. The company did not provide West Seno production data, but it was initially targeting west Seno to produce 30,000-35,000 barrel per day by year-end.

Unocal operates several PSCs in East Kalimantan.(alex)
