Unocal to spend $1 million for community welfare in E. Kalimantan

Oil and gas producer Unocal Indonesia Company will this year spend US$1 million in revolving fund on community development projects in East Kalimantan, Bisnis Indonesia daily reported on Monday.
Like in the past, Unocal will adopt strict mechanisms to make sure that the $1 million will be properly used for the welfare of communities in the northern and southern parts of East Kalimantan, Unocal?s community development manager Suta Vijaya was quoted by Bisnis Indonesi as saying over the weekend.
Suta said revolving funds allocated by Unocal for last year?s community development programs in East Kalimantan had been used according to plans, due to strict mechanisms adopted by the firm.
Unocal, a unit of US oil and gas company Unocal Corp., operates oil mining projects in East Kalimantan. (*)
