State mining company Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) and nickel miner PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk (INCO) will in May sign a cooperation agreement to develop INCO?s nickel resources in Pomalaa, South Sulawesi, Director General of Geology and Mineral Resources Wimpy S. Tjetjep said on Wednesday.
The two publicly listed firms plan to start supplying raw materials from Pomalaa to Antam?s FeNi I nickel smelter in South Sulawesi in 2003, Tjetjep told Petromindo.com after attending a meeting in Jakarta of officials from the companies.
?The companies plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding early May in Pomalaa in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources,? Tjetjep said.
Antam is 65 percent owned by the Indonesian government, while INCO is a subsidiary of Canadian mining giant Inco Limited. (godang)
