Update: Govt installs new Pertamina top officials

State minister of state- owned enterprises Sofyan Djalil officially installed Thursday afternoon Karen Agustiawan as the new President Director of state-owned oil, gas firm Pertamina and Omar S. Anwar as the new vice president.

Karen replaces Ari H Soemarno, while Omar took over the post from Iin Arifin Takhyan. To date, Omar is also President Director of Rio Tinto Indonesia.

Karen for the time being keeps her old position as upstream director.

Karen told reporters that she would continue the transformation program at Pertamina initiated by Ari. She also said that Pertamina is targeting oil production of 171,000 barrel per day (bpd) this year.

The government also named three new commissioners including former JP Morgan Indonesia top executive Gita Wirjawan, former Pertamina director Sony Sumarsono and former senior Caltex officer Humayun Bosha.(Godang/Bernard)
