PT. Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), announced on Tuesday the pre-qualification tender for long-term coal supplies for its Suralaya 3,400-MW power plant in Banten province.
The company invites miners who are experienced in supplying coal to power plants and have supply capacity of minimum of 1 million tonnes per annum to participate in the tender.
The company said that the supply would start this year, but it did not say the volume of coal required.
Meanwhile, Suralaya's General Manager Bambang Susianto told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that the current tender replaced the previous tender which had been annulled due to the lack of participants.
"The tender volume is 1.5 million tons per year with a calorie content of 6,300 Kcal/kg," he said. (denny/godang)
