The joint operation of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), upstream unit of state-owned oil, gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), and Talisman in Jambi Merang block (JOB Jambi Merang) has flowed 20 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas, starting March 20 to PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI), the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.
PHE spokesman Ali Mundakir said on Thursday the company expects to increase gas supply to 60 mmscfd by mid year and will further reach peak production of 120 mmscfd at end of this year.
PHE subsidiary, PT PHE Jambi Merang, which owns a 50 percent participating interest in the block, acts as the operator.
Talisman Jambi Merang and Pacific Oil and Gas hold a 25 percent interest respectively in the block.
The block?s production was projected to reach 144 mmscfd of gas and 4,000 barrels of condensate per day within the next seven years.
JOB Jambi Merang also plans to build a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) extraction facility with a total investment of US$80 million. The project is expected to be completed in 2014. (godang/bernard)
