A leakage has occurred at ExxonMobil Oil's gas pipeline in Lhok Seumawe, Aceh, on Friday morning, briefly affecting gas supply to Arun natural gas liquefaction.

ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia (EMOI) senior official Maman Budiman told Petromindo.Com Saturday that the leaked pipeline segment had been isolated and cause of the leakage was being investigated.

?Gas supply to Arun was reduced on Friday but ExxonMobil is currently utilizing back-up pipeline to increase gas supply to Arun,? he said. He did not give more detail but said that thus far, the incident would not cause LNG production interruption in Arun.

Meanwhile, BPMIGAS operations division head Sumitro Kardi Ronodimedjo told Petromindo. Com that gas supply to Arun was reduced by 200MMCFD as the back-up pipeline is smaller in diameter. ?Arun NGL is still working despite gas supply cut. Everything is under control now,? he said.

He did not say when supply would be back to normal.

EMOI is sole gas supplier to Arun NGL from its Aceh gas fields. (godang)
