Indonesian top coal mining contractor PT Pama Persada Nusantara said on Tuesday that had won a 15-year contract to carry out mining works for East Kalimantan-based coal producer PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), with coal output expected at around 7 million tons per annum.

Pama senior official Ridwan Pohan told Petromindo.Com that Pama is ready to commence mining at KPC’s new Bendili mine in the second half of this year. Pohan said Pama is also contracted to remove the mine’s overburden.

Bumi Resources, which controlled KPC, is also planning to open new Bengalon mine later this year in a bid to boost the KPC’s coal production to 30 million tons next year. (alex/godang)
