Ir. R. Priyono, married, Muslim

Current position: Director of Upstream Development Supervision at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Born on September 12, 1956 in Pati, Central Java, R Priyono graudated from the Bandung Institute of Technology?s School of Geology in 1976. After finishing his study, he participated in various seminars, workshops, trainings on language, technology, human resources in Indonesia and overseas. He speaks English (active), French (passive) and Japanese (passive).

He has a long career at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources handling oil and gas upstream sector. From 1988 through 1995, he was a staff at the Exploration and Exploitation Equipment Technology section, Processing and Refining Equipment Technology and Idonesianization program sections of the Directorate of Oil and Gas Development Supervision. In 1995, he was appointed the head of the Idonesianization section at the directorate and was then promoted to become the head of the Exploration Subdirectorate in 2001 and the head of Working Areas Management Subdirectorate in 2003 and the head of Working Areas Subdirectorate. He is the Director of Upstream Development Supervision since August 2006.

As the Director of Upstream Development Supervision, he was involved in formulating six Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources decrees, including the Decree No. 040/2006 on the Procedure on Oil and Gas Working Areas Offering and Establishment, Decree No. 033/2006 on the Procedure on CBM Working Areas Offering and Establishment, Decree No. 027/2006 on the Management and Use of Data Obtained from Oil and Gas General Survey, Exploration and Exploration. Decree No: 01/2008 on the Guideline for the Development of Oil and Gas at Aging Fields.(*)
