Update: Release: Total E&P Indonesie reaches high production

(March 23, 2004) On March 21, 2004 gas production from Mahakam PSC Block in East Kalimantan recorded again, since last July 2003, its highest production of natural gas at 2 725 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD).

The Tambora and Tunu fields currenctly produce around 1 500 MMSCFD, Peciko produces around 1 200 MMSCFD and associated gas from Handil and Bekapai amounts to around 100 MMSCFD. Including the associated condensate and production from the oil fields in the Block, hydrocarbon production peaked 584 927 barrels of oil equivalent on that day (BOEPD).

Natural Gas is exported through pipeline to the Bontang LNG Plant where it is liquefied before being shipped as LNG to Japan, Korea and Taiwan. TOTAL E&P INDONESIE is operator, in a 50% partnership with Japanese company INPEX Corporation, of the Mahakam Block at the Mahakam River Delta in East Kalimantan.
