Oil and gas companies in the country plan to drill a total of 206 exploration wells this year, according to Acting Chairman of the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, J. Widjonarko.

?We hope that all the planned drilling (programs) can be realized not like last year when the realization was only about 130 exploration wells,? he said during a hearing with the House of Representatives Commission VII overseeing the energy sector earlier this week.

Widjonarko also said that the upstream industry plans to carry out 49 seismic surveys including 2D seismic survey covering 9,020 km, and 3D seismic covering 11,633 square km.
