South Sumatra coal mining firm Uresources Group said that its coal output this year is expected to be only around 1 million tons, lower than the 1.5 million tons target set under the plan approved by the government.

?Until end the year, probably it will only be around 1 million tons,? said Pulung Peranginangin, President Director of Uresources on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 4th Annual Coal Buyers and Producers Meeting in Jakarta, organized by Petromindo.com.

He said that the failure to meet the initial production target was due to the recent heavy rainfall.

Uresources has three coal mining subsidiaries including PT Astaka Dodol, PT Baturona Adimulya, and PT Cakra Adipratama, all of which hold the IUP mining business license.
