URGENT: Blockade of coal barges in Barito river to start at 11 this noon

About 1,000 of people using some 125 units of boats or ships are approaching Barito river, South Kalimantan to blockade all coal barges traversing the river as a protest against central government policy which cut quota of subsidized fuel for provinces in Kalimantan.
The protests will be organized by the locally known Forum Peduli Banua (FPB), a forum consisting of activists, university students and local people.
?The blockade (of coal barges in Barito river) will start at 11,? Coordinator of the forum, Berry Nahdian Forgan told Petromindo.com.
Berry, who is also former director executive of Indonesian Environmental Forum (Walhi), said that the forum had received confirmation from about 1,000 people to take part in the protest.
